# Balade gourmande du Chablisien

> Balade gourmande du Chablisien: a spring walk of about ten kilometres through the Chablis vines, with food and wine stands along the way.

The Balade gourmande du Chablisien is a walk of about ten kilometres through the vineyards, punctuated by tasting stands. At each stop a regional speciality is paired with a wine of Chablis, so the morning turns into a long lunch in the open air. Numbers are limited and booking is compulsory.

## History

The walk is organised by a local association, Chablis Bouge Son Cru, whose volunteers go by the motto 'à fond la treille'. It has been held every spring since 2012, and the 13th edition took place on 26 April 2026.

The route changes from one year to the next, so regulars see a different part of the vineyard each time. In 2025 it linked Chablis, Poinchy and Beine.

## What to expect

Walkers set off in small groups every quarter of an hour through the morning and follow a marked route through the vines and villages. At each stand a regional speciality is served with a Chablis to match, with local wine estates taking part. Dogs are welcome on the walk.

## Tips for the day

Booking is compulsory and closed at the end of March for the 2026 walk, so reserve on the association's website as early as you can. Wear walking shoes, as paths in the vines can be muddy in April. Chablis is about 1 hour 30 minutes from Beaune, and a driver waiting at the finish means nobody has to drive after the walk.

## Did you know?

The organisers' motto, 'à fond la treille', plays on the French phrase 'à fond la caisse', or flat out, with the treille, the vine trellis, in place of the car.
