# Caves ouvertes de Fixin et Brochon

> Caves ouvertes de Fixin et Brochon: Thirteen estates of Fixin and Brochon open their cellars on a December weekend.

On a weekend in early December, the growers of Fixin and neighbouring Brochon open their cellars to the public. With an engraved glass and a map, visitors walk from estate to estate, tasting several vintages, meeting the growers and buying wine for the festive season.

## History

The Caves ouvertes are a December tradition among Fixin's growers. In 2025 they returned with a new format on 6 and 7 December, bringing together thirteen estates from both villages, to celebrate the Fixin appellation, extended in 2024 to 35 hectares of vineyards in the commune of Brochon.

## What to expect

Buy your glass on rue Noisot in Fixin or in front of Brochon's library, then follow the map through the cellars. Local artists exhibit in the caves, there are musical moments, food trucks and local associations, and some restaurants serve special menus for the weekend.

## Tips for the day

In 2025 the cellars were open from 10 am to 6 pm and the engraved glass cost 5 euros. Wear warm clothes, as cellars are cold in December. Fixin and Brochon sit side by side just north of Gevrey-Chambertin, and a private driver can carry your purchases and spare you the drive after a day of tasting.

## Did you know?

Since 2024 the Fixin appellation has also covered about 35 hectares of vines in neighbouring Brochon.
