# De Cep en Verre

> De Cep en Verre: a weekend of Hautes-Côtes wines, craftspeople and street performers in the old centre of Nolay.

De Cep en Verre fills the historic centre of Nolay with growers, craftspeople and street performers for a summer weekend. Eight winegrowers of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune lead commented tastings, while around forty artisans demonstrate their trades. The 2026 edition is the 22nd.

## History

The Nolay tourism agency organises the event with the Syndicat de Défense des Hautes Côtes, the growers' body for the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes appellations. The idea is to present the vine, wine and living crafts in a playful, educational way, in a small medieval market town at the foot of the Hautes-Côtes.

## What to expect

Growers explain their methods and pour their wines, and craftspeople such as potters, basket makers, blacksmiths and wood turners work in front of visitors. Giant wooden games and workshops keep children busy, bands play on both days, and stilt walkers, jugglers and fire eaters perform at the end of the day. On the Sunday morning a 7 km family walk, the Rallye De Cep en Verre, stops at six tasting points in the vines before a lunch served at a wine estate.

## Tips for the day

Entry is free, and tasting glasses are sold by the organisers; the rally is booked in advance through the tourism agency. Nolay is about 18 km from Beaune, and August roads are busy with holiday traffic. A driver lets you enjoy the tastings and continue to the Cirque du Bout du Monde or La Rochepot on the way back.

## Did you know?

In 2026 the festival reached its 22nd edition, with about forty craftspeople demonstrating their trades.
