# Festival De Bach à Bacchus

> Festival De Bach à Bacchus: Meursault's summer festival of music and wine, with concerts in the village and tastings with the musicians.

De Bach à Bacchus is Meursault's festival of music and wine. In early July it offers about twenty events, from concerts in the church and the old leper house to guided tastings, vineyard visits and dinners with the artists at growers' homes. In 2026 the main festival was preceded by the Mai Musical, with a concert each weekend in May in Meursault and neighbouring villages.

## History

The festival was founded in 1986 by the pianist Yves Henry with the association Les Amis de la Musique à Meursault, and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2026. It is part of the Festival Musical des Grands Crus de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, which also runs wine and music events in Gevrey-Chambertin, Chablis, Noyers and Cluny.

## What to expect

Concerts range from baroque and chamber music to piano recitals and organ, in venues such as the Église Saint-Nicolas, the Maison-Dieu Léproserie and the cellars of the Château de Meursault. Many are paired with tastings of Meursault wines, and some evenings end with dinner in the company of the musicians. The May concerts visit the churches of Meursault, Saint-Romain, Monthelie and Auxey-Duresses.

## Tips for the day

Book concerts and dinners through the festival's website, as tastings and dinners have limited places. Concerts often start at 19:00 or 20:00 and dinners follow, so plan a driver for the end of the evening so that nobody has to drive home. Meursault has a few hotels and guest houses, and Beaune is ten minutes away.

## Did you know?

Pianist Yves Henry founded the festival in 1986, and its 2026 edition marked 40 years.
