# Les Festives de Meloisey

> Les Festives de Meloisey: Every other July, a Hautes-Côtes village becomes a festival of wine bars, crafts and French song.

Les Festives de Meloisey is a village festival held every two years in Meloisey, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune above Pommard. Over a July weekend, wine bars pour the wines of the village's growers, more than 60 craftspeople set up in the streets and a show starts every hour. The festival is held in odd-numbered years.

## History

The Festives were created to promote Meloisey and its residents, associations, walking trails, heritage, vineyards and winegrowers. Run by volunteers, the festival has become a biennial event, held in 2021, 2023 and 2025.

## What to expect

Wine bars serve the village growers' wines with local produce, and craftspeople exhibit throughout the streets. The programme is entirely French-language, from bands to theatre; in 2025 it included a play by the troupe Les Mille et Une Vignes. Children have their own activities, from face painting to pottery, and the Saturday ends late with fireworks.

## Tips for the day

Entry is free. In 2025 the festival ran from 11:00 to midnight on the Saturday and from 10:00 to 19:00 on the Sunday. Meloisey is a small hill village with limited parking, and after a late evening with fireworks, a driver back to Beaune, about 15 minutes away, is the easiest way home.

## Did you know?

The festival takes place only every other year, and entry is free.
