# Les Nuits d’Orient et d’ailleurs

> Les Nuits d’Orient et d’ailleurs: Dijon's winter festival of music, dance and art from the Orient and beyond.

For about three weeks at the start of winter, Dijon's festival Les Nuits d'Orient et d'ailleurs brings concerts, exhibitions, dance, film and workshops to venues across the city and its suburbs. Organised by the city, it travels from Africa to Asia by way of the countries of the Orient.

## History

The festival was born in 2000 in the Grésilles district as Les Nuits d'Orient and quickly became a highlight of Dijon's cultural year. Over time it moved from a dreamed, traditional Orient towards contemporary creation. In 2023 it took its current name, to build more bridges between East and West.

## What to expect

Choose from concerts at the Grand Théâtre and other halls, photography shown on the railings of the Jardin Darcy, calligraphy and craft workshops, dance classes and family shows, with a programme that runs from the city centre to the neighbourhoods.

## Tips for the day

The full programme is published on the festival website in the autumn; some concerts are ticketed. Combine an evening concert with the Christmas market, which usually opens during the festival, and let a private driver bring you back to the Côte afterwards.

## Did you know?

Around 90 partners, from cultural institutions to neighbourhood associations and residents, help build the programme each year.
