## History

Like the Saint-Vincent festivals of the Chablisien and the Côte, the Tonnerrois edition keeps alive the winter feast of Saint Vincent, whose day falls on 22 January. The local growers make Bourgogne Tonnerre, an appellation that turned 20 in 2026, and the red and rosé wines of Épineuil, a vineyard of about 85 hectares on the hill facing Tonnerre.

## What to expect

The 2027 programme in Vézinnes includes a ceremony, a parade and various entertainments, with a gastronomic banquet at the heart of the day. Entry is free, and visitors buy a glass to taste the wines of the Tonnerrois growers.

## Tips for the day

Check the tourist office page for timings and banquet bookings as the day approaches, and dress for a cold January Sunday. Vézinnes lies just north of Tonnerre, about 1 hour 45 minutes from Beaune; being driven lets you enjoy the tastings and the banquet without watching the clock.

## Did you know?

The Bourgogne Tonnerre appellation, whose growers take part in the festival, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2026.
