# Trail du Tacot

> Trail du Tacot: a village trail race from the vines of Gevrey-Chambertin up to the cliffs above.

The Trail du Tacot starts in Gevrey-Chambertin and follows paths along the vines before climbing to the heights above the village. It is a friendly local race, capped at a few hundred runners, and a good excuse to see the Côte de Nuits from above.

## History

The race has been on the calendar of regional runners for about fifteen years. Its 16th edition, on 6 April 2025, reached its maximum of 500 entrants across a 19 km trail, a 12 km race and a 12 km walk. The 2026 edition was run at the end of March.

## What to expect

Choose the long trail, the shorter race or the walk. The course follows paths along the vines of Gevrey-Chambertin, then climbs to the heights, with some impressive stretches along the cliff edge above the Combe Lavaux nature reserve. Spectators gather at the start and finish in the village.

## Tips for the day

Places are limited, so register early with the organisers. Trail shoes are advisable for the cliff-edge paths. Afterwards, Gevrey's cellars and wine bars are a short walk away, and a private driver can take you back to your hotel once you have celebrated.

## Did you know?

In 2025 the race reached its maximum of 500 entrants, up from 380 to 420 in previous years.
