## History

The Vaudoisey family moved to Volnay in 1804, and the domaine has passed through nine generations of growers. Christophe Vaudoisey and his wife Laurence took over the family estate in 1985, and their son Pierre now works alongside them.

The family farms its vines sustainably and works to bring out each terroir. In 2009 it finished a new winery at the bottom of the village, on land that was once a garden in the premier cru Les Mitans. Its largest wine is the Volnay village, blended from about twenty plots above and below the village, and the wines age for 16 to 18 months, with up to a quarter new oak for the premiers crus.

## What you will see

Tastings take place at the family house in the heart of Volnay, where the range runs from the Volnay village to premiers crus such as Les Mitans and Les Caillerets, alongside wines from Pommard, Monthélie and Meursault. Prices for a visit and tasting range from €13 to €40, and the family can receive visitors in German, English and Italian as well as French.

## Planning your visit

Allow about an hour. Visits are by appointment only, and the domaine is closed on Sundays and public holidays. The family house is on the rue de la Barre, by the village square of Volnay, a short walk from the church and the views over the vineyards.

## Did you know?

The domaine's newest winery, finished in 2009, was built on land that was once a garden in the premier cru vineyard Les Mitans.
