Domaine Jeannot is a family estate on the edge of Meursault, next to the village's medieval leprosarium. They make some twenty appellations from about 9 hectares of vines in five villages of the Côte de Beaune, and receive visitors by appointment.

## History

Valérie and Philippe Jeannot, both from Burgundy, began farming a few plots in 1997 and soon founded their own domaine. Plot by plot, they built it up to about 9 hectares on the Côte de Beaune, and later moved the estate to Meursault to give it room to grow, with new buildings and equipment.

In 2014 their son Quentin came back after studying at the wine school of Mâcon-Davayé and brought a new focus on export: the wines now go to more than ten countries. The vines run from the Maranges and Santenay to Meursault and Pommard. They are farmed along organic lines, without certification, with much of the work by hand, from green harvesting to picking, and the wines age for 9 to 18 months.

## What you will see

A visit with the family covers the vineyard work and the cellar before a tasting of red and white wines from across the domaine's villages. As the family both makes and sells its wines, you can buy the bottles you like on the spot.

## Planning your visit

Allow about an hour. Visits and tastings are by appointment only: contact the domaine through its website to arrange one. It stands on the main road through Meursault, the D974, beside the leprosarium, about 1.5 kilometres from Meursault station.

## Did you know?

The domaine's neighbour is Meursault's leprosarium, founded in the 12th century by Duke Hugh II of Burgundy to care for the sick and the poor, above all those with leprosy.
