## History

The Olivier family has farmed at Concœur for seven generations, and blackcurrants have always been part of their life. Isabelle and Sylvain Olivier met at the grape harvest in 1992 and founded the Fruirouge farm on 1 January 1995, on 2.6 hectares handed down by Sylvain's parents. His grandmother Odette left them the old family farmhouse, ideally placed on the village square.

They turned the barn into a shop, the stable into a welcome point and the cowsheds into a workshop. Over the years the farm grew from 2.6 to 13.6 hectares, to supply fine grocers, restaurants and export markets. Their children joined the business, and the next generation is now taking it forward. The farm holds the Vignobles et Découvertes and Tourisme et Handicap labels.

## What you will see

The welcome visit tells the family story and leads to a video room in the former workshop, where a film shows the farm's bond with the living world. A commented tasting of jams, drinks and condiments follows. In high summer, guided walks explore the organic orchards, and from spring to autumn a field game invites families and friends to solve riddles among the fruit bushes.

## Planning your visit

The farm welcomes visitors all year, from Thursday to Monday. The short welcome visit with its tasting takes about 20 minutes and needs no booking, while the summer orchard visits and the field game must be booked. Concœur is a short drive up from Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Clos de Vougeot, on quiet Hautes-Côtes roads. The family also runs a shop on the Grande Rue in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Check the official website for opening times.

## Did you know?

The farm has grown from 2.6 hectares in 1995 to 13.6 hectares, to keep up with demand for its organic blackcurrant and red fruit products.
