## Paris to Beaune: train, car or private transfer?

| Option | Time | Cost | Door to door? | Luggage | Works best for |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| TGV to Dijon-Ville, then TER | 2 h 05 at best, 2 h 43 on average, with a change at Dijon-Ville; 17 trains a day from 6:52 to 20:22; about 4 h from Charles de Gaulle | From €26 per person in second class, usually more close to the date | No: from Paris Gare de Lyon (metro line 14 from Orly, about 25 min) to Beaune station | On the TGV, 2 suitcases and 1 small bag per person, carried by you | One or two people travelling light from central Paris |
| Driving yourself | About 3 h 15, 310 km on the A6 from central Paris | Tolls about €26 to €28, plus fuel or charging and the hire | Yes, but you drive after your journey and park in Beaune | Whatever fits in the boot | Travellers who keep a car for the whole stay |
| Private transfer, Côte Privée | About 3 h 15 from central Paris, 3 h 45 from Charles de Gaulle | €750 per car for 1 to 4 guests, tolls included: about €188 each for 4 | Yes: met with a name board, dropped at your door in Beaune | Your driver helps with every bag; say how many you bring when you book | Three or four guests with luggage, a long-haul arrival at Charles de Gaulle |

The TGV is faster than the road, 2 h 05 at best with a change at Dijon-Ville. The car is worth its €750 for luggage and for the door: four guests with suitcases pay about €188 each, nobody changes trains after a long-haul flight into Charles de Gaulle, and the trip ends at your hotel, not at Beaune station. A break on the way is always possible, and a visit such as the Château de Châteauneuf, close to the A6, or Vézelay can be added when you book: the extra time and its price are confirmed in writing before the trip.

Train times and fares from SNCF Connect, TER Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Rhônexpress and Genève Aéroport, checked on 1 October 2026; tolls from APRR’s 2026 tariffs. Fares change with the date, so check yours before you travel.
