A licensed VTC driver based in Beaune, who speaks English, French, Mandarin Chinese and Arabic.

Côte Privée drives you on wine tours, on transfers and by the hour across Burgundy, for 1 to 4 guests per car, by reservation only. The car is a 100% electric Polestar 2, and your driver knows the domaines, the back roads and the right lunch tables.

What is a licensed VTC driver?

VTC (voiture de transport avec chauffeur) is the French licence for private drivers. The driver passes a professional exam and holds a VTC card, shown on the windscreen, and the business is listed on the national register of VTC operators with professional insurance.

By law a VTC only carries passengers who have booked in advance: it never waits for fares in the street or at a taxi rank, and the price of your trip is fixed per car when you book. That is why every service on this site works by reservation.

How do booking and payment work?

You choose a service, a date and your pickup online and see the price per car, all taxes included, before you send your request. Your driver confirms by e-mail with a secure link to pay a 30% deposit by card; once it is paid, the day is booked, and you pay the balance on the day, by card or in cash.

The cancellation conditions are set out in our terms of sale, and the FAQ answers the most common questions about booking and payment.

What does your driver do, and not do?

Your driver plans the day with you and takes care of everything around the wine:

  • suggests domaines that suit your taste and books the tastings for you, free of charge
  • reserves a table for lunch or dinner when you ask
  • tracks your flight or train, waits between visits and helps with your bags and cases of wine
  • tells you about the villages and the vineyards along the way

Your driver is not a licensed guide-conférencier, so there are no guided tours of monuments. Tastings, meals and entrance tickets are paid directly where you have them, and one car takes up to 4 guests.

Where does your driver work?

From Beaune, across Burgundy: the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, Chablis, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais, Dijon and the châteaux and abbeys of the region, with a price from Beaune for every place on this site. Transfers link Beaune with Dijon-Ville station, Le Creusot TGV station, Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport and Part-Dieu station, Geneva airport (French sector) and Paris, its airports included.
