About the event
Every July since 1990 the Rencontres musicales de Noyers have brought chamber music to the church of Notre-Dame in Noyers. Internationally known musicians perform alongside an academy whose students give their own concerts, and the festival welcomes about 2,500 listeners each year.
What to expect
Concerts are given in the church of Notre-Dame, and the academy's masterclasses are open to the public, a rare chance to watch great teachers at work. After the concerts, winegrowers from the Auxerrois, the Chablisien and the Tonnerrois invite the audience to a tasting, a relaxed moment to meet the artists.
History
The festival is run by volunteers of the association founded in 1990, with villagers helping to host the musicians. Teachers at its academy have included the pianist Anne Queffélec and the violinist Olivier Charlier, and since it began it has welcomed nearly 1,500 musicians for some 280 concerts.
The 35th edition ran from 8 to 31 July 2026 and closed with the cellist Gary Hoffman and the pianist Thuy-Anh Vuong. About a third of the audience comes from Burgundy, another third from the Paris region, and one listener in ten from abroad.

Book concerts on the festival website once the programme is published. Noyers is about 1 hour 30 minutes from Beaune; arrive in time to walk through the old squares before the concert, and let your driver bring you back after the tasting.
