In 2026 a private wine tour in Burgundy costs from €290 per car for a half day with a driver, tastings paid separately, while operators who put the tastings in the price charge about €380 to €620 for a private half day and €650 to €870 for a full day, for two to four people. From €290 per car for a four-hour half day with a private driver, up to about €870 for a full day for four people with an operator who includes tastings and lunch.
Prices come in two formats. Private drivers usually charge per car, and you pay each domaine for the tastings you choose. Tour operators usually charge per person, or a price for two plus a supplement for each extra guest, and include one to three tastings, sometimes lunch. The table sets out 2026 prices from operators in and around Beaune, as published on their websites in September 2026.

Per car or per person: which is cheaper?
A per-car price is shared by up to four guests, so it falls per head as the group grows, while a per-person price rises with every guest.
On our half day, four guests pay €72.50 each before tastings, against €290 for a solo traveller. Operators pricing for two plus a supplement sit in between: at Safari Tours, four people on a private half day pay €470 in all, or €117.50 each, with the tastings in the price. The figures below are per person, rounded, before tastings.
| Guests in the car | Half day, 4 h (€290) | Full day, 8 h (€560) | Long day, 12 h (€880) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | €290 | €560 | €880 |
| 2 | €145 each | €280 each | €440 each |
| 3 | About €97 each | About €187 each | About €293 each |
| 4 | About €73 each | €140 each | €220 each |
How much do tastings cost at the domaines?
A standard tasting at a Beaune wine house or a château costs about €15 to €35 per person in 2026, and premium tastings of premiers and grands crus from about €49 to €175.
- Prices were checked on the official websites in September 2026 and change often, so confirm before you go.
- At family domaines practice varies: some charge a fee, some waive it if you buy wine and some do not charge at all, so ask when you book.
- Tastings built around premiers and grands crus are priced higher, because those wines cost more to pour.
- With a private driver priced per car, you pay each domaine directly, and only for the tastings you choose.

What is included in the price of a private wine day?
With our wine days, the price covers the car and driver for the whole period, waiting between visits, tolls, parking and all taxes; tastings, meals and entrance tickets are paid on the spot.
- Included: pickup at your hotel in Beaune or at the station, the driver's time, waiting while you taste, tolls and parking, charging the electric car, VAT, water on board.
- Included: our help choosing domaines and making the appointments, free of charge.
- Not included: tastings, paid directly to each domaine; lunch, paid to the restaurant; entrance tickets to châteaux and museums.
- Extra time on a wine day costs €70 per hour.
- When you compare quotes, check four things: whether the price is per car or per person, how many tastings are included, whether lunch is included, and where the pickup is.
What does a wine day cost for two or four people?
For two people, our full day with three tastings and an all-in private full day from Beaune both come to about €650 to €710; for four, our per-car day comes to about €860 with tastings, lunch extra, against €870 for an all-in private tour with lunch.
The examples below assume €25 per person per tasting at the domaines, a typical price in Beaune in 2026. Your own total depends on the estates you choose.
- For a couple, an all-in private tour costs about the same as a driver plus tastings; the difference is choosing your own domaines and timing.
- For three or four people, our per-car day with tastings costs about as much as an all-in private tour, and less than private tours priced per person.
| Example | 2 people | 4 people |
|---|---|---|
| Our half day (4 h) with 2 tastings at €25 | €290 + €100 = €390 | €290 + €200 = €490 |
| Our full day (8 h) with 3 tastings at €25, lunch extra | €560 + €150 = €710 | €560 + €300 = €860 |
| Safari Tours private half day, tastings in the price | €380 | €470 |
| Safari Tours private full day, tastings and lunch in the price | €650 | €870 |
| Safari Tours shared tour, 4 hours, 2 tastings | €130 | €260 |
| Kanpai Tourisme private day from Lyon, lunch extra | €920 | €1,840 |
How can you spend less on a Burgundy wine tour?
Fill the car and keep the day compact: four guests on a half day in the Côte de Beaune pay €72.50 each before tastings.
- Choose a half day in one Côte: Pommard, Volnay and Meursault lie within 10 km of Beaune, so four hours is enough for two or three domaines.
- Mix transport: take the TER to Nuits-Saint-Georges or Meursault one day, and book a driver for the villages without a station, such as Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis and Vosne-Romanée.
- Ask whether the tasting fee is waived if you buy wine.
- Travelling alone on a budget, a shared tour at €49 to €65 is cheaper than any private option.
- Keep your TER ticket: it gives reduced prices at partner sites such as the Hôtel-Dieu and the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
- Compare like with like: a lower headline price may leave out tastings, lunch or the pickup at your hotel.
Questions
It depends on the operator. Tours priced per person or per group often include one to three tastings. With a private driver priced per car, like ours, you pay each domaine directly, usually €15 to €35 per person at houses and châteaux in Beaune.
