Day by day

On the third weekend of November Beaune celebrates its charity wine auction, first held in 1859: the Fête des Grands Vins de Bourgogne pours all 84 Burgundy appellations on the Friday afternoon and the Saturday, cellars hold special tastings, and the sale under the covered halls closes the weekend on the Sunday afternoon. The town usually closes the streets around the halls to traffic, and no car park can be booked, so your driver drops you at the edge of the closed streets and waits. The plan starts on the Friday of the next edition.

Vente des Vins des Hospices de Beaune · The next edition starts on Fri 13 November: the plan’s first day follows it.
