The Caveau de Meursault is the tasting room that the Moillard wine house opened at the entrance to the village in early 2018. Part shop, part discovery space, it explains Burgundy's climats, the work in the vines and the region's geology and history. Visitors can taste from a range of some sixty wines.
You can simply taste and buy, or book one of the house's formats: introductions to tasting, commented tastings, private tastings of premiers crus and cellar-and-heritage visits, priced from about €10 to €70 per person. Around the Hospices de Beaune wine sale in November, the caveau runs a food-and-wine pairing with six wines, two of them from the Hospices.
Moillard is a Burgundy wine house whose history goes back to 1850 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, where its original cellar still stands. It is both a producer and a négociant that makes and ages wine, working with some 260 hectares of vines from Chablis down to the Mâconnais.
The house opened its Meursault caveau in 2018, alongside its tasting cellar in Nuits-Saint-Georges and a shop opposite the Hôtel-Dieu in Beaune. The Meursault site was designed as a place to learn as well as taste, with displays on the climats and on how the Burgundy vineyard came to be.

Allow 45 minutes to an hour and a half. The caveau is open from Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00 from April to October and 10:00 to 17:30 from November to March. Groups are limited to about 12, so booking is wise for a set tasting. There is a car park on site, and the caveau stands on the main road at the edge of Meursault, convenient on a drive along the Côte.
