About the restaurant
Auprès du Clocher is a one-star restaurant beside the church in Pommard, run by chef Rémi Genot and his partner Anna Jacinto, and one of two Côte-d'Or tables newly starred in the 2026 guide. Genot, a Lameloise alumnus with deep roots in the village, cooks with great precision and a local's feel for Burgundy, a few steps from some of the Côte de Beaune's most famous red-wine vineyards.
The story
Genot is the son of Pommard's butcher and learnt his trade in Dijon before finding a mentor in Eric Pras at Maison Lameloise, winning the Meilleur Apprenti de France title along the way. He went on to cook at La Pyramide in Vienne and with Yohann Chapuis at Greuze in Tournus.
At Lameloise he met Anna Jacinto, and after the pandemic the couple came to Pommard hoping to take over the restaurant behind the church. They did so in 2023, and three years later, at 29, Genot won his first MICHELIN star.
The cooking
Genot describes his food as instinctive, but it rests on exact technique and carefully judged cooking, with a delicate, almost poetic touch on the plate. He works closely with local producers, and fine cuts of meat come from his father's butcher's shop next door. Service is by set menu only, built on fresh seasonal produce. The wine list gathers the great Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of Burgundy, with detours to other regions and a few bottles from lesser-known terroirs.
Your evening
How the evening works
- 1Book your table
Directly with the restaurant. Weekends, the harvest and the Hospices de Beaune auction in November fill up weeks ahead.
- 2Book the car
Choose the restaurant on our booking page: pickup at your hotel at the time you like, and a fixed price for the return trip.
- 3Back to your hotel
Your driver waits nearby while you dine, up to 3 hours, then drives you home. Nobody has to drive.
Tips for your visit
The official menu lists a four-course lunch menu from about 95 euros, with five- and seven-course menus; the restaurant closes on Tuesday and Wednesday and at lunch on Thursday and Friday. Check the website for current menus and times and reserve well ahead. The dining room is on the first floor with no lift, children under five are not admitted, and elegant dress is appreciated. Pommard lies a few minutes south-west of Beaune on the Route des Grands Crus, so a private driver lets you pair lunch with a cellar visit in the village and leave the car keys out of the equation.
