Domaine d'Ardhuy has its home in the Clos des Langres at Corgoloin, a walled vineyard whose southern wall marks the border between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The family estate covers 37 hectares, with grands crus on the hill of Corton and four monopole wines. Tastings take place in the 18th-century family manor, beside an old wine press.
Visits are guided tastings of 60 to 75 minutes in the manor, in small groups. The Panorama tasting pours four wines, from the Clos des Langres to a premier cru and a grand cru. The Exclusive tasting pours seven, including the four monopoles, a premier cru and two grands crus, among them Corton-Charlemagne. The shop in the manor, beside an 18th-century press, sells wines from Puligny-Montrachet to Gevrey-Chambertin, some of them found only at the estate.
The Clos des Langres belonged from the 11th century to the chapter of Langres cathedral, which gave it its name. Its wines were praised by Dr Lavalle in 1855 and ranked among the first cuvées in 1892. From the 17th to the early 20th century the walled vineyard belonged to noble families. The 3-hectare clos lies on a gentle south-east-facing slope, between about 245 and 255 metres above sea level.
The estate dates its foundation to 1927, when Pierre André bought his first vines at Aloxe-Corton. Gabriel Liogier d'Ardhuy built it up from 1955 to 1989, and the family has carried it on since. Vincent Bottreau has managed the vineyards and cellar since 2017, with organic practices in the vines. The estate's four monopole wines are the Clos des Langres in red and in white, the Ladoix premier cru Le Rognet et Corton and the Ladoix Clos des Chagnots.
