Les Grandes Heures de Cluny has brought classical music to the abbey town for nearly six decades. Concerts take place in the churches of Notre-Dame and Saint-Marcel and in the town's theatre, and each is followed by a tasting where audience and musicians meet over local wine.

What to expect

Programmes range from Baroque ensembles to string quartets, piano duets and chamber music with international soloists. After the concert, winegrowers of the region pour their wines, a relaxed way to end a summer evening in the abbey town.

History

The festival held its 59th edition in 2026. Over its lifetime it has staged more than 330 concerts before some 169,000 listeners, and in 2026 it offered nine main concerts and thirteen free events.

Tips for the day

Book online, especially for weekend concerts; full-price tickets were around 30 euros in 2026. Cluny is roughly an hour and a quarter from Beaune, and after a concert and a tasting it is better to be driven home than to drive.
