About the event

Du Côté des Maranges is the spring open-cellar weekend of the Maranges appellation, whose three villages lie about 20 minutes from Beaune. Growers welcome visitors in their cellars and vaulted caves, with local producers on hand. It is held over Easter weekend; in 2026 it was in Dezize-lès-Maranges.

What to expect

A tasting glass serves as your ticket to every participating cellar. It is a good moment to taste the latest vintages, some already opening up and others still ageing in the cellar, alongside local cheese, charcuterie and bread. In 2025 walks were also organised through the vineyards.

History

The Maranges appellation spreads over three villages, Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges and Sampigny-lès-Maranges. The spring weekend moves between them: Sampigny-lès-Maranges hosted it in 2025 and Dezize-lès-Maranges in 2026. In January 2026 the three villages also hosted the Saint-Vincent Tournante together.

Tips for the day

The glass cost 7 euros in 2026, and the domaines were open from 10:00 to 18:00 without a break. The host village is small and cars soon line the lanes. The Printemps de Monthelie has recently fallen on the same Easter weekend, and a driver lets you taste in both without worrying about the roads in between. Santenay and Beaune are the nearest bases.

Questions

The 2027 dates of Du Côté des Maranges have not been announced yet. Usual timing: usually Easter weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00. The organiser publishes them on vins-maranges.fr.

Did you know? Although the Maranges belong to the Côte de Beaune, all three of its villages are in Saône-et-Loire, not the Côte-d'Or.
