About the event

Each year on the fourth weekend of October, the growers of Auxey-Duresses open their cellars to visitors for a weekend of tastings. It is a chance to see the Côte de Beaune in its autumn colours and to taste village and premier cru wines that offer excellent value.

What to expect

Visitors are welcomed on the place de l'Église by students from the Maison Familiale de Grandchamp and buy a glass that gives access to every cellar showing the event's logo. A free shuttle links Auxey-Duresses with Melin. Food is served on site or to take away, from snails and oeufs en meurette to Charolais burgers and crêpes, and a few local food producers set up in the growers' cellars.

History

The name plays on two French expressions. The coup d'œil is the glance at the autumn landscape of the Côte de Beaune, and the coup de cœur is the wine you fall for in the cellars. Around twenty growers of Auxey-Duresses and its hamlet of Melin take part, in a village that sits in a small valley between Meursault and the Hautes-Côtes.

Tips for the day

The glass cost 8 euros in 2026 and is the only ticket you need; payment is in cash. Tastings run from 10:00 to 18:00 on both days. The village is small and parking fills quickly on a fine weekend, so being dropped in the centre by your driver and collected later is simpler, and nobody has to drive after a day in the cellars. Beaune, with most of the hotels and restaurants, is about 15 minutes away.
