About the event
On the last Saturday of June, the growers' association Elégance des Volnay invites the public to spend a day in the village. Around thirty estates pour their wines, while masterclasses and guided walks explain the climats of the appellation.
What to expect
In 2024 visitors bought a tasting kit to meet around thirty estates, with a guided walk led by a geologist. In 2026 the day included masterclasses comparing wines from the north and south of the appellation, a free heritage walk through the village and, in the evening, a gastronomic dinner cooked by two chefs, to which guests brought bottles to share.
History
The association Elégance des Volnay has brought together growers of the appellation since 2005, with the support of the appellation's management body and the BIVB. Its aim is to show the elegance of Volnay's wines and to make its terroirs better known to professionals and the public alike.
Volnay is a small appellation of about 215 hectares planted only with Pinot Noir, and 115 hectares are classified premier cru across 29 climats. The village hosts the Saint-Vincent Tournante in January 2027.

Tips for the day
Booking is required for several activities; in 2026 the masterclasses cost 25 euros and the dinner 150 euros. Reserve with the association well ahead, as places are limited. Volnay is compact and parking is tight, and with the dinner running late, arranging a driver for the return to Beaune is the relaxed option.
