About the event
On the Saturday of the Vente des Vins weekend, thousands of runners set off from the centre of Beaune for a hilly half marathon through the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune. The weekend also includes a 10.4 km race, a night run, walks, a canicross and races for children. The 2026 edition is the 39th.
What to expect
The half marathon starts on the Saturday at 14:00 on the Avenue de la République, near the Hospices, and finishes at the Forum des Sports at the foot of the Montagne de Beaune. Bands and tastings of local produce line the course. On the Friday evening a 4 km night run leaves from the Place de la Halle.
History
The race was created in 1986 by the athletics section of the Société d'Émulation Beaunoise, and 450 runners started the first edition. In 1989 the course ran between Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton, and since 2001 it has followed the roads of Pommard, Volnay, Meursault and Monthelie. Today the weekend draws more than 5,000 participants across all its races.

Tips for the day
Registration opens in early summer and the 5,000 places go quickly. The race uses the roads of the vineyard villages, so check the organiser's practical information for traffic arrangements on the Saturday afternoon. Beaune is full for the Vente des Vins, so book accommodation months ahead; for supporters, a driver can move between viewing points in the villages and bring the runner back after the finish.
