About the event
For two evenings each spring, the producers of the Mâcon appellation set up a large temporary wine bar on the Esplanade Lamartine, beside the Saône, and pour their wines in front of a concert stage. It is the most relaxed introduction to the Mâconnais there is.
What to expect
Cooperatives such as Lugny, Azé, Igé and the Vignerons des Terres Secrètes stand beside family estates such as Château de la Greffière and Lacharme et Fils in La Roche-Vineuse and Domaine des Chenevières in Saint-Maurice-de-Satonnay, pouring whites, reds and rosés by the glass. A food area pairs local produce and seafood with the wines, and several bands follow one another on stage each evening until late at night.
History
The festival celebrates the Mâcon appellation, created in 1937, in its three tiers: Mâcon, Mâcon-Villages and Mâcon followed by a village name. It returns to the quays each spring. The growers' union, the Union des Producteurs de Vins Mâcon, describes it as a big open-air Mâcon wine bar run by the appellation's own producers and a popular festival for all ages, and it carries the Vignobles & Découvertes label.

Tips for the day
Entry cost 8 euros in 2026; wine by the glass was 3 euros, grape juice 2 euros and a bottle 15 euros. The nearest car parks are the Lamartine and Les Halles car parks. Mâcon is about an hour from Beaune. The evenings run late, and a driver waiting at the quay means nobody has to drive home late.

The 2027 dates of Les Mâcon Wine Note have not been announced yet. Usual timing: A Friday and Saturday evening in late May; in 2026, Friday 29 and Saturday 30 May, from 6 pm to 1 am.. The organiser publishes them on macon-tourisme.com.
