About the event

On the weekend of the Hospices de Nuits auction, the growers and merchants of Nuits-Saint-Georges set up their bottles in the town's covered market. It is the simplest way for visitors to taste the appellation in one place, from village wines to premiers crus, and to talk to the people who make them.

What to expect

Move from stand to stand under the market roof, tasting Nuits-Saint-Georges village wines, premiers crus and other Burgundy climats, and ask the growers about their vineyards and vintages. Upstairs, chocolatiers show their work and give sweet demonstrations for all ages.

History

The salon is organised by Les Vignerons de Nuits-Saint-Georges and reached its 17th edition in March 2026, with about forty growers and merchants of the appellation. It has become a fixture of the auction weekend. Upstairs in the same market hall, the association La Cabotte runs a chocolate fair, created twenty years ago by Christian Delin as a family-friendly alternative to the wine salon.

Tips for the day

The salon takes place in the covered market in the centre of town. Combine it with the Hospices sale at the Clos de Vougeot or with the half marathon on the Saturday, as the whole town is lively that weekend. With a private driver nobody has to drive, and there is no parking to find in Nuits.
