About the event
Musique au Chambertin brings chamber music to the villages of the Côte de Nuits, from Marsannay to Vosne-Romanée, and pairs concerts with wine tastings. In 2026 it adopted a new format of two weekends, in spring and in autumn, closing with a gourmet cocktail at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
What to expect
Concerts range from string quartets and piano duos to tango and French song, in village halls, churches and other heritage venues, with wine tasting part of the festival's spirit. The autumn weekend of 2026 includes a tango and chanson evening in Fixin, a concert in Marsannay and a trio in Vougeot.
History
The festival was created in 1988 in Gevrey-Chambertin by volunteers and the tourist office, with the trumpeter Thierry Caens as artistic director. The percussionist Adélaïde Ferrière took over in 2022, and since 2026 the cellist Gauthier Herrmann has led the programme. The association behind it works with nine villages: Marsannay-la-Côte, Couchey, Fixin, Brochon, Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée.

Tips for the day
Tickets are sold through the festival and the Gevrey-Chambertin and Nuits-Saint-Georges tourist office; in 2026 a full-price seat cost 25 euros, with free entry for under-18s. Concerts move from village to village each night, which is where a private driver helps, especially with a tasting after the music.

The 2027 dates of Festival Musique au Chambertin have not been announced yet. Usual timing: Long held over five days in late August and early September; in 2026 it moved to a May weekend and an early-October weekend.. The organiser publishes them on musiqueauchambertin.fr.
