About the event

For one October weekend, the covered halls facing the Hospices de Beaune become a tasting salon of bread, wine and cheese. Visitors taste with growers from several wine regions and choose plates of artisan cheese and bread.

What to expect

Entry includes a screen-printed glass, free tastings at the growers' stands and five tickets for plates of cheese and artisan bread of your choice. There are demonstrations and tastings around the featured cheeses, and the hall is on one level and accessible.

History

The salon is organised entirely by students of the BTS tourism course at the Lycée Clos Maire in Beaune, who staff the stands and welcome visitors. Each year has a focus; in 2026 it is on cheeses from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Tips for the day

Tickets cost from 14 euros in 2026 and are sold through the Beaune tourist office, with free entry for under-10s; each ticket is valid for one day. In 2026 the salon opens on Saturday from 17:00 to 22:00 and on Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00, and dogs are not admitted. The halls are in the heart of old Beaune, where parking is scarce, so being dropped at the door by your driver is easiest.
