About the restaurant

La Maison des Cariatides is a one-star restaurant in a listed early seventeenth-century townhouse on rue Chaudronnerie, in Dijon's antiques quarter, run by the chef couple Marie-Cécile and Vincent Gomis. They took over in June 2024 and brought the star back to the address in the 2026 guide, with generous, precise cooking that joins Burgundy to the Mediterranean.

The story

The house, built around 1603 and classified as a historic monument in 1911, takes its name from the caryatids and atlantes carved across its façade. It has a real pedigree as a restaurant: between 2011 and 2018 Thomas Collomb and then Angelo Ferrigno cooked here, and in 2016 Ferrigno became the youngest chef in France to win a star that year.

Vincent Gomis was born in French Guiana and learnt his trade in Carcassonne under Franck Putelat before joining the three-star kitchen of Le Bristol in Paris, where he met Marie-Cécile, who comes from the Nièvre. After working together for Eric Fréchon, they spent several years in Saint-Barthélemy before returning to Burgundy for their first restaurant of their own.

The cooking

The couple describe their style as roots and influences: Burgundian foundations, flavours from further south and a lively seasoning that keeps each plate sharp. They buy French meat, line-caught fish from Breton and Mediterranean fishermen and vegetables from committed market gardeners, and the menus change with the seasons. Everything is served as a tasting sequence that moves from savoury to sweet. The wine list mixes organic and biodynamic bottles with fine Burgundy and gives particular prominence to women winemakers, from the Côte de Nuits to the Hautes-Côtes.

Tips for your visit

The official site lists a lunch menu from about 59 euros, served Wednesday to Saturday except public holidays, and longer menus in the evening; it also warns that the menus shown may not be current, so check the website before booking. Allow at least two hours, and note that the menus are not designed for vegetarian, vegan or lactose-free diets. There is a small patio terrace for fine weather. The old town's narrow streets make parking awkward, and a private driver lets you take the pairing and head straight back to your hotel.
