About the place

Domaine Baptiste GuyotDomaine Baptiste GuyotDomaine Baptiste GuyotDomaine Baptiste Guyot

Domaine Baptiste Guyot is a family wine estate in the faubourg Saint-Martin, on the western edge of Beaune, where the houses give way to the vineyards. Baptiste Guyot has run it since 2010 and farms about 8 hectares around Beaune and in nearby villages. The family receives visitors by appointment for tastings, with or without a look at the cellars.

What you will see

Three kinds of tasting are offered: a discovery tasting of 30 to 45 minutes, a tasting with a visit of the cellars of 45 minutes to an hour, and a tasting with a full visit of the domaine of 1 hour to 1 hour 15. The family groups visitors in small parties of about ten at most, and gives prices on request. The domaine also has guest rooms.

History

In the 1980s the Guyot family estate counted up to 20 hectares of Beaune premier cru and village vines. Inheritances split it up, and only about 2.5 hectares in Beaune remained when Baptiste took over in 2010. He added plots in Pernand-Vergelesses the same year, then in Pommard, Monthélie and Volnay in 2016.

Baptiste grows Pinot Noir for his reds and Chardonnay and Aligoté for his whites. The vines are farmed with care for the soil, ploughed between the rows and treated organically as far as possible. The range includes the Beaune Clos du Foulot, a monopole, and the Pernand-Vergelesses premier cru En Caradeux.
